Well, it’s now somehow September, which means that another summer has come and gone. Of course, I still live in a godforsaken swamp state, so it doesn’t feel like summer has come and gone, but the average high temperature has dropped from 90 to 89, so…yeah, it’s still hot.
Anyway, here are some of the photo highlights from these past summer months:
The Beach, naturally:
Visit with my family in Maine
Visiting Legoland Orlando with my brother
Visit to Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs (and, you know, the rest of Disney Springs, but I only took pictures here)
Snuggled my puppies, obviously
Summer Stats (includes June, July, and August):
Miles walked: 208.43
Words written: 4,111 (Do I still get to call myself a writer?)
Books read: 14 (Thanks, Alice Oseman and the Heartstopper series!)
Books sold: 1 (Thank you, kind soul! I don’t know who you are, but you’re truly much appreciated!)
And on that note, I’m outta here.
Thanks for stopping by. Be safe and well, all.
Great pictures! Looks like you had a fun time! August turned into a scramble for us with school starting again and then we all caught covid the first week back. Yay… Hope you all stayed healthy.
We have managed to stay healthy thus far. Fingers crossed, knock on wood, and all that that it stays that way.
Hope you and your family are feeling better!
Love the Minions! And Legoland!
I’m not sure which I’m more intrigued by – that amazing tree or that amazing cake…. 🙂
I hadn’t been to Legoland before. It was a lot of fun to check out. It was super empty, too. Just how I like my theme parks. 🙂
I don’t know how you can live there. I’m dying where I am. Do you even have a winter there anymore? Or is it just summer all year round?
There was one Christmas a couple of years ago where it was actually warmer in Maine than Florida. But yeah, usually, our “winters” are only a day or two in January and February. Definitely don’t miss snow, though.
I bet Maine was much cooler.
Never been to the Legoland in Florida.
It was, indeed, cooler. Not always by a lot, but it was nice.
I love horseback riding. What is Disney Spring? Part of Disney World?
Yeah, it used to be called Downtown Disney or something like that. It’s like a big outdoor mall with shops and restaurants, a movie theater, bowling alley, things like that. Parking and admission is free, so we visit once and a while.
Oops, my brain with word written with book read and I thought… well, of course you on got 14 words down, you read over 4000 books. It’s been a long day. I love the photos but that first one is beckoning me.
Fourteen words written is definitely something I would do and have done. I would love to have read 4000 books, though. That would be so cool.
If it makes you feel better, I think you’ve written more than I have this year. I’ve just been so busy with the new house and going back to work. I have no idea where this year has gone.
I was honestly shocked when I added up the words I wrote over the summer. Whether any of them will manage to stay out of the deleted scene file remains to be seen, but that’s Future Me’s problem.
And hey, don’t forget (as though you could)—you published a book this year. That’s huge. And awesome!
I saw a meme that said something along the lines of, It’s September, but I live in California, so it’s still hot for another three months. I imagine they could change the state to Florida and it would work just as well.
Yes, it really could! 🙂
Looks like you’ve had a lovely summer so don’t beat yourself up about not writing so much. Sometimes a good break is exactly what you need!
Love these pictures. And the stats. It’s important to remember the whole person and that some months are big word months, and others are big life months. You need life to create words. @samanthabwriter from

You had an eventful summer with a lot of fun happenings. Gideon’s Bakehouse looks neat!
