This is where I would normally write some kind of maybe quasi-interesting introduction to whatever this post is about, but I am a little pressed for time and, quite frankly, my brain is pretty fried, so I’m just gonna jump right into a list of the writing-related accomplishments I amassed since my last post, because for the first time in a long time, there kind of are some:
—Published a book for the first time since 2020 (Retail Rhapsody) and even managed to sell a few copies. Which was a surprise, so thank you, kind souls. If you choose to read it, I sincerely hope you enjoy it.
—Attended the author event I told you about last month…and didn’t hide under the table or behind a tree. I even talked to people (occasionally even about my own work) and sold a few books. I’d like to give a special shout-out to the woman who bought a copy of the Terrible Romance Novel Love & Other Lies even though when she asked me what it was about, I could offer her nothing but meaningless word salad that probably made her (as well as everyone within earshot) question my ability to write a coherent sentence. I appreciate you taking a chance on me and my book, even though I am endlessly weird, awkward, and rather hopeless. If you should choose to read it, I sincerely hope you enjoy it. I’m almost positive there’s at least one coherent sentence in there somewhere.
—Finally stopped procrastinating on those two manuscript read-throughs I mentioned last month. I couldn’t decide between the two, so I started reading both to see if one grabbed my attention and have been switching back and forth between them ever since…and am producing what I am sure is a completely reasonable and not-at-all excessive number of notes and corrections and changes I want to make to each of them once the read-throughs are finished.
—Finally came up with a proper title for the Terrible Romance Sequel (to be revealed at a later date) so that should the manuscript ever be finished, it can be called something other than Terrible Romance Sequel. No guarantee that I won’t change my mind, but it’s lasted a week or so now, so it still counts as a win. For now.
Here’s a look at last month’s numbers:
And here, because I know you’re dying to know, are my goals for May:
That’s gonna do it for me today. What are you working on this month?
Be safe and well, all.

Haha! Love it. Amazing — getting out there with another book after 5 years. Way to go!
So glad the author event went well! Good for you!
Well done on all of those accomplishments last month and good luck going forward! 🙂
Congrats on more than one front. Great progress! @samanthabwriter from

You survived the event! And have a book title. You are on a roll.
Yeah, you did it! And you sold! Congrats.
Hey, that’s a solution. Read through them both. I like it. Good luck on everything.
Go you! I’d say more, but I’m also feeling a little brain-fried. LOL
